Scavone to Leave RiverCenter

Scavone to Leave RiverCenter

Board and business community extends thanks and good wishes

Red Bank, NJ (Dec. 31, 2019) –“The Board and the RiverCenter business community thanks Jim for the nine years of dedicated service, the last six as executive director,” Stephen Catania, Chairman of the RiverCenter Board of Directors said. “We wish James the best of luck in his new endeavor with Hackensack Meridian Health at Riverview Medical Center.”

Since 2011, Scavone has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization and under his guidance and leadership, RiverCenter has advanced the businesses community.

Scavone’s significant RiverCenter accomplishments include:

  • Guiding the creation of a strategic plan with a five-year implementation strategy.
  • Managing and coordinating the White Street / English Plaza construction project.
  • Improving relations with and between members of Red Bank’s business community.
  • Attracting new consumers to Red Bank’s retail center by integrating the arts into the daily life of the community.
  • Working closely with local business experts to reduce impediments to new business recruitment.
  • Strengthening the relationships between RiverCenter and the Borough of Red Bank.
  • Reducing administrative costs at RiverCenter so that more resources can be spent on business recruitment and programs that promote Red Bank and its businesses.

Over the next few months, the Board of Directors will be conducting a search to find a new Executive Director. During this transition period, the Board of Directors will seek the best individual to lead RiverCenter, while maintaining a stable and effective organization.

“We cannot thank James enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation he has given RiverCenter over the past decade. He will be missed by the staff, Board, businesses and the community,” Red Bank Councilman and Borough Liaison Ed Zipprich said.
