Kirkpatrick Named RiverCenter Director
RED BANK, NJ (March 5, 2020) - Red Bank RiverCenter Board of Directors announced today that effective immediately, Laura Kirkpatrick has been named Executive Director of the Borough’s special improvement district.
Kirkpatrick had been serving as RiverCenter’s Interim Executive Director since long-time Executive Director James Scavone vacated the position in mid-January.
“Laura joined the organization two years ago as marketing director and quickly became an integral part of the RiverCenter team,” said Stephen Catania, RiverCenter Board Chairman and owner of The Cheese Cave.
“She has a strong skill set reflective of her decades of marketing and public relations experience in the public and private sectors. The Board is confident that Laura will assist our businesses and lead the organization to its full potential,” added Catania.
“I am excited to take on a leadership role with RiverCenter and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, Red Bank officials, and our businesses to advance the visionary ideas and implement the tasks set forth in RiverCenter’s Strategic Plan,” Kirkpatrick said.
Kirkpatrick has been the organization’s Marketing Director since March 2018 where she oversaw RiverCenter’s roster of promotional events and communications initiatives. In that role she forged a strong relationship with the organization’s business community and other key players who work to make Red Bank a thriving center for dining, shopping, and the arts.
Prior to joining RiverCenter, Kirkpatrick held leadership roles in Monmouth County government where she directed the communication and tourism interests and served as the media spokesperson, established the county’s social media presence and policies, and produced an award-winning cable television show. She was also the Public Information Officer for the Monmouth County Park System where she led a diverse marketing and information program for nationally-recognized parks and golf courses.
Kirkpatrick holds an M.A. in Corporate and Public Communications from Monmouth University and a B.S. in Urban Affairs and Planning from Boston University.
